The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) are premier institutes established by the Government of India to promote high-quality science education and research. IISER offers a flagship BS-MS dual degree program, integrating undergraduate and postgraduate studies in science. Admission to IISER is primarily through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT), JEE Advanced, or KVPY (for earlier batches, now merged with INSPIRE scheme). The IISERs are renowned for cutting-edge research, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and interdisciplinary science education. As of 2025, IISERs are located at Pune, Kolkata, Mohali, Bhopal, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Berhampur, and the new IISER in Nagaland.
